If you were fortunate enough to attend\u00a0the\u00a0ADC 94th Annual Awards<\/a>and ADC Tomorrow Awards<\/a>\u00a0ceremonies last week at the ADC Festival of Art + Craft in Advertising and Design,<\/a> you were treated to three hauntingly\u00a0beautiful videos about immortality, as perceived by three deep thinkers in very different fields.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe campaign for this year\u2019s ADC Awards was \u2018Immortality for your Work\u2019, which was developed by \u00a0ADC Hall of Fame laureate George Lois,<\/a>\u201d explains ADC Executive Director Ignacio Oreamuno.<\/a>\u201cA lot of us work in this business for years, but the things we create\u00a0vanish from existence. By winning an ADC Cube or a Tomorrow Awards trophy, you claim a little piece of immortality. Your creations outlive you, inside the ADC archives \u2014 which stretch back nearly a century \u2014 to be preserved and honored forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

ADC commissioned Budapest-based film\u00a0company Umbrella<\/a> and acclaimed director Luka Kostil<\/a> to craft their own vision of immortality, designed to kick off each evening of awards. Each short film opens on a different person falling in slow motion against a stark black background, representing\u00a0the passage of time itself. As the character falls, an off-screen narrator is introduced who poignantly examines the subject of immortality.<\/p>\n
